HOUSE SITTER DETAILS OF THE PLACE...

FRANCE Near Lourdes, foothills High Pyrenees. Animals. Very comfortable house. 

We are about 30 minutes from Tarbes or Lourdes and Bagneres de Bigorre is our nearest town (7 mins)

What am I looking for in a house sitter?

Apart from exercising the dogs, feeding the cats and checking the horses, we just want the house looked after. There are several neighbours who will be around if needed. There are plenty of things to do and some magnificent walks, several famous grottos and the Pic du Midi to visit. The area where we live is a small hidden gem of the High-Pyrenees called the Baronnies and has about 21 very small unspoilt villages. (Check it out on Google!) We hope you take advantage of your stay here. You will need a car when you are here and if needed we can lend you our old but happy Toyota Landcruiser, insured for you of course. From the UK and if you do not have a car, we suggest flights from London Stansted Ryanair to LOURDES which is about 30 minutes from the house. You can also fly in to PAU (1hr)  to TOULOUSE (1.5hrs) with Easyjet and others. If you have a car we are flexible.

What responsibilities will my house sitter have?

We are in the country but 5 minutes from Bagneres de Bigorre. This is a large house with excellent accommodation.  The house has two parts (connected) and the "Gites" has two double bedrooms so you can even come as a small family! French TV/ Media centre and lots of films and music. WiFi etc. We are in a beautiful part of France called Les Baronnies, inthe foothills of the Pyrenees yet close enough to large towns and airports!

What do potential house sitters need to consider before applying for this assignment?

Some basic experience with handling horses. (Not riding, grooming etc.) Please supply references. You will need a car ! However we are happy to let you drive our Toyota land cruiser. (old model)
